How did the idea behind Player Epic come into fruition ? I get this question a lot. I would label the creative process as a pivot.

Gaming has always been a part of my life but it wasn’t until recently that I realized that it could have a larger role and I could make money while playing.

The idea behind Player Epic started between the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020. I had booked tickets to go on a business trip across the world and I was flying out of California. Unfortunately, there was a health emergency and part of the trip was cancelled. With my bags packed and a newly open schedule, I decided to take a “think week”.

There I was in San Francisco, planning my next adventures. I wasted no time booking a flight to LA. My friend Brock, Khaathus, let me come chill at his house for the week. While on my sabbatical, he noticed that I frequently had my phone out and I would have it turned to the side, horizontally. Anyone who knows me knows, if I have my phone to the side, I’m playing Clash of Clans. He suggested I start gaming since I already was spending time competing on a regular basis.

California is a large state and known for many thriving industries. Having the opportunity to see the gaming culture first hand, how someone CAN make a living as a gamer was eye opening. I had a totally new outlook on gaming and another opportunity to start making money.

Once I returned home, it had me thinking, I could start an agency and sign myself and do this as a side hobby for fun. I began reaching out to other players to get them to join my crew. It was only after a few weeks of recruiting and phone calls that everything came to a screeching halt, COVID hit.

During the pandemic, we were fortunate enough to continue working but I know a lot of friends and family who were laid off or could not go back to work right away. I couldn’t get this idea out of my head. How could gaming be a solution during a global pandemic and national lock down ?

Then, it hit me. Player Epic. Over night it grew from an idea to a corporation. Join our newsletter on our road to Beta.
