Combat the Dangers of Gaming
As a gamer, it’s easy to get absorbed in the current challenge or mission. Depending on their stream schedule, they might have days go by sitting in the same position, eyes glued to the screen, busy farming, or completing quests, or taking down some zombies. Losing track of time is almost a given; it is natural. But did you know that sitting for extended periods of time can be seriously damaging to your health?
According to the Mayo Clinic, an analysis of 13 studies of sitting time and activity levels found that those who sat for more than eight hours a day with no physical activity had a risk of dying similar to the risks of dying posed by obesity and smoking. It also increases your risk for conditions such as increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, or excess body fat around the waist and abnormal cholesterol levels.
